LIHBCDC Current Projects

Sergeant Ryan Donnelly of the United States Marine Corps served in three tours of duty, two in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. During his last deployment to Iraq in 2005, his Humvee was struck by an IED, where Sergeant Donnelly lost his right leg above the knee. Sergeant Donnelly received a Purple Heart for his actions during this attack.Sergeant Donnelly has been selected by a panel of VFW Commanders to be the second recipient of a brand new home at an incredibly reduced price, this time in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. Ground breaks for this home on June 6, 2012 on land donated by the Town of Brookhaven, through Suffolk County’s 72-H Affordable Housing Program. Donnelly is a Long Island native and is engaged to Tina McGrory, a veteran herself of the United States Army. He works in the Long Island Local 200 Plumbers Union and is currently in the fourth year of his five year apprenticeship program. |
